How long, Lord?

Been a hard week? You know, regardless of the headlines, all of life isn't a global crisis. Most of the things each of us face every single day aren't happening in the White House, or the houses of Congress, The Waffle House, or in the big house (as Barney Fife would describe the jail in Mayberry). No, they are in my house and your house. The question many of us ask the man or woman in the mirror every morning is "How long, Lord?" Perhaps the greatest test of the times is endurance.
King David asked "How long, Lord?" many times. Here's Psalm 13. Pay attention to the last two sentences sentences. Rejoice in them---
How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I take counsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;
light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,”
lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.
But I have trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.
Psalm 13, ESV
Sing to the Lord! It's his day!
